In the beginning when God created the heavens and earth, He gave to Adam and Eve the gift of the Sabbath. The Sabbath was to be a special time of fellowship between man and his Creator. In fact, the book of Genesis tells us that God did something very special to the Sabbath. It says that He rested, He blessed, and He hallowed or made holy, the seventh day (Gen 2:2,3). God reminded his people of the Sabbath again, when He gave Moses the Ten Commandments. Then throughout the Old Testament period, God raised up many prophets to remind His people to keep the Sabbath holy. As the New Testament period dawns, we see Jesus worshipping in the temple on Saturday (Luke 4:16). The gospels also clearly teach that the disciples also worshipped on Saturday. In the book of Acts, we see one of the greatest evangelists to the Gentiles, the Apostle Paul, keeping and teaching others to keep Saturday holy (Acts 17:2, 13:42). The book of Revelation clearly identifies Gods faithful followers at the end of time, as those who keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. (Rev 12:17, 14:12). The Bible says that God will one day recreate this earth and dwell here with His people. It also says that every Sabbath all the redeemed will come together before the Lord to worship (Isaiah 66:22,23). The Bible promises a special blessing to those that would honor God by honoring His Sabbath (Isaiah 58:13). Have you ever felt that there is something more that God has for you? We invite you to experience the blessing of worshiping the Lord on the Sabbath.
